"As a person with hearing loss, I often find lectures, plays, and PA system announcements indecipherable. But who else notices? Unlike someone visibly left outside because of wheelchair inaccessibility - which would leave others appalled - inaccessibility due to hearing loss is invisible and thus often unremedied."

Soundshuttle Portable Induction Hearing Loop
The Soundshuttle is a compact, portable induction loop system for applications over short distances, for example, at reception desks, at information counters or in sales areas. Or use at your office/work setting, at home or even in the car!
Positioned between the people speaking to each another, the Soundshuttle uses an integrated microphone to pick up the sound and transmits the corresponding inductive signals via the integrated loop.
Power can be provided by the power cord included with the system or by the integrated rechargeable battery.
With your hearing aid switched to the 'T' position, the microphone in Soundshuttle picks up the speaker's voice and converts it into a magnetic field. This field is received by the hearing aid, allowing the user to hear more clearly.
The Soundshuttle can be used with a wireless microphone for places such as a classroom.
The Soundshuttle can be used with a wireless mic (e.g. the $49.99 Radio Shack item #32-1257) to cover the range of a classroom. This allows the person speaking to be anywhere in the room while you hear using the Soundshuttle. Connect a cord (not included) from the wireless mic receiver into the Soundshuttle “EXT MIC” outlet.
Note: The wireless receiver needs to be plugged into power so you will need to sit near a power outlet (the person speaking who can be up to 200 ft. away).
