Just plug your phone and lamp into the TR-50 - easy to hook up. The Sonic Ring, model TR 50 is designed for one room signaling and is best used in rooms that will use a separate lamp for normal room lighting. The lamp plugged into the TR 50 can only be used for signaling in one room because the TR50 does not work with the Sonic Alert remote receivers.
